TIMELINE
STENHØJ has provided innovative solutions for 100 years!
THE STENHØJ GROUP's history goes back 100 years and begins with an ambitious man with a good idea.
In 1917, Sigurd Stenhøj purchased the smithy where he was employed. His father had to sign the papers as Sigurd was only 23 years old and not old enough to be registered as the owner.
Sigurd Stenhøj came up with the idea for the "Car-lift" in 1929, when he was trying to solve one of the daily challenges at his workshop.
In the middle of the 1920s, Chevrolet cars were introduced to the Danish market, these cars found their way into Sigurd Stenhøj's workshop. The low Chevrolet models was creating challenges at the workshop. A key obstable was that mechanics could not get under the low car. Sigurd Stenhøj therefore created the first STENHØJ lift, receiving a patent on the invention in 1930.
THE STENHØJ GROUP's history is known for its innovative thinking, adaptability, innovation and ambitions to create a large international company. These core values remain at the forefront of the STENHØJ GROUP today.
